How does it work?
Share Commitments
-
$630 payable in two installments
due March 15 and August 1--call if the payment dates present a hardship.
Various payment plans are available. See sign-up form for details. If you
have financial constraints that make paying this amount difficult, please
call to ask about low-income scholarships.
-
$5 per household membership
fee--that means $10 total if you are splitting the share--to help cover
the costs of newsletters and mailings.
-
Twelve person-hours of
work per share at the farm. Working at the farm gives CSA members a chance
to meet one another and see how our food is grown, and helps the farmer!
There are plenty of options for day and time choice, as well as carpooling.
Supervised kids are welcome. There is a limited number of off-farm tasks
for people who require them.
Getting Your Produce
-
If you live near the
farm, you can pick up your produce each week on your scheduled pick-up
day. You can choose from three pick-up days: Tuesday and Thursday (pick-up
between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.), or Saturday (pick-up between between
11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.)
-
If you live in the
Boston area, you can join a pick-up cooperative. A co-op is a group
of up to ten shares who split driving responsibilities. Each week a different
household drives out to the farm to pick up everyone's produce and deliver
it to a local drop-off site. Each share in the co-op will drive out to
the farm two or three times each season. Co-ops are currently located in
Jamaica Plain, Cambridge, and Somerville.
